Job summary

We are now looking for an experienced, hands-on, Privacy Manager who can help us further professionalize our privacy management across the regions where we operate. In this position you are part of Group Risk & Compliance, report to the Group Risk & Compliance Manager and work in close cooperation with our Legal team, our Product teams, and our Brand business teams across Europe. In the Group Risk & Compliance team your immediate colleagues work on a variety of risk & compliance topics, like Know Your Customer and information security.

As a Privacy Manager, you play a critical role in ensuring a privacy mindset within TBAuctions while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. You are responsible for setting privacy standards and driving the implementation of the TBAuctions Privacy Framework, performing privacy impact assessments, providing guidance to the products development team so that products conform to privacy-by- design principles, investigating privacy incidents and providing a fit for purpose privacy support structure to our regions, for example by means of the Group standard privacy management software and training platform.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to navigate regulatory frameworks within the European Union. Top candidates will also be excellent communicators and can train and educate our business teams on privacy topics.What you will do:

Key responsibilities:

  • Privacy awareness- Design and deliver privacy awareness activities, such as e-learning and on-site training.

  • Privacy standards- Develop, review, and update privacy standards, establishing clear guidelines to help management meet privacy requirements and continuously manage the associated risks.

  • Continuous improvement- Identify privacy improvements to our business processes and technology and provide proposals to implement these;

  • Privacy incidents- Ensure that data protection incidents within the organization are properly evaluated, investigated and resolved.

  • Privacy Management Software- Support our business teams with well-designed technology for our privacy administration and actively promote its use;

  • Communications- Provide practical advisory support on privacy procedures to key stakeholders.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Regulatory knowledge- Strong understanding of GDPR, privacy guidelines and practices;

  • Analytical skills- Ability to assess privacy impact in our business processes and technology;

  • Problem Solving & Critical thinking- Proactive in identifying privacy risks and recommending mitigation strategies. The ability to review and resolve complex information and perform thorough privacy investigations;

  • Data interpretation & Decision making- Ability to interpret data independently and to make evidence-based decisions with confidence;

  • Attention to detail-High level of accuracy in reviewing documentation and transaction activity;

  • Excellent communication skills- Ability to communicate with multiple international business teams in a comprehensive way;

  • Privacy software- Experience in using OneTrust application suite or equivalent privacy management and risk assessment software.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Privacy (Risk) Management or comparable analytical processes. including conducting risk assessments, setting and implementing companywide standards, actively creating awareness and managing incidents;

  • Relevant degree (HBO or WO Level) in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, Criminology, or equivalent subject. A privacy certification such as IAPP, CIPM, CIPP is a plus;[MJ1] [MJ2]

  • Solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations and standards related to privacy, amongst which the GDPR;

  • Ability to present and facilitate resolution of topics in a comprehensive way while balancing customer experience;

  • Ability to educate audiences of different background and nature on privacy topics;

  • Experience working in cross-functional, multi-national and virtual teams;

  • Experience working in the Technology sector is a plus;

  • Experience working with OneTrust’s application suite is an advantage;

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Working proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
