Data Privacy
This Role will support our expanding privacy footprint, helping manage and organise data privacy across 4 markets and support dealing with the complexities of serving more patients.

You will work on the following:

Own the Privacy Framework: Maintain and enhance our group-wide Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and documentation standards, ensuring they remain audit-ready and reflect current global regulations.

Embed 'Privacy by Design': Partner proactively with Product and Engineering teams to integrate privacy safeguards into our clinical tools, ensuring that compliance acts as an enabler for innovation rather than a blocker.

Drive Operational Excellence: Manage Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Subject Access Requests (SARs) with high efficiency, reducing manual overhead and providing clear, actionable guidance to stakeholders.

Navigate Complexity: Act as a subject matter expert for cross-jurisdictional privacy challenges, identifying potential risks early and providing pragmatic, business-aligned solutions.

Elevate the Function: Contribute to a culture of privacy awareness across Oviva, providing guidance that helps the wider team understand their responsibilities in protecting patient data.

Experience: You bring 3+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in data privacy, ideally within a multi-country group setup.

Qualifications: LLM and/or State Exam, or LLB qualification

Expertise: You are a subject matter expert in GDPR and have a solid grasp of general privacy principles. Experience with clinical or sensitive data is a significant advantage.

Autonomy: You are comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities with a solution-oriented mindset.

Communication: You can simplify complex legal requirements into clear, friendly guidance for colleagues across the business.

Language: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German or other European languages is a plus, given our international footprint.
  • Operational Oversight: Lead the day-to-day management of privacy tasks, including maintaining the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and managing Subject Access Requests (SARs) efficiently.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct and coordinate Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects and technologies, providing actionable advice to balance innovation with compliance.

  • International Coordination: Act as the central point of contact for privacy matters across our various European markets, ensuring local nuances are respected within our global framework.

  • Clinical Data Stewardship: Apply your understanding of healthcare-specific data challenges to protect sensitive information, ensuring our clinical operations meet the highest standards of privacy.

  • Policy Development: Draft and refine clear, concise privacy notices and internal policies that reflect our thoughtful and inclusive approach to data handling.

  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor changes in data protection laws across our operating countries and proactively suggest enhancements to our processes.

We believe in supporting our team members so they can focus on making a real difference in our patients' lives. As part of Oviva, you can expect:

Flexible Working: We trust you to manage your time, offering remote flexibility across all our locations.

Meaningful Impact: You’ll be part of a mission-driven team where your work directly supports the health and well-being of over a million people.

Professional Growth: We are a high-growth company where your contribution is visible, and you have the autonomy to shape your own department.
