Description & Requirements

WHAT MAKES US A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the top ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have earned the #1 overall spot a record seven times. Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join Bain’s Data Privacy team within our Legal group. The team advises colleagues across Bain on privacy and data protection matters and supports the processes, systems and practices that help us meet our privacy obligations globally.

Based in our Global Business Services (GBS) office in Warsaw, you’ll work closely with colleagues across Legal and with stakeholders throughout the business. You’ll combine substantive privacy legal work with hands-on responsibility for key privacy processes and operational support.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As an Associate Counsel, Privacy, you’ll advise on privacy and data protection matters while helping manage the processes that underpin Bain’s privacy program. Your work will span legal advice, contract review and negotiation, privacy assessments, stakeholder coordination, workflow management and team support.

This is an opportunity for a qualified lawyer who enjoys both substantive legal work and the practical side of making privacy processes work effectively across a complex organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll provide practical legal advice on privacy and data protection matters across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

•    Reviewing, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy provisions in client and vendor contracts.

•    Conducting data protection impact assessments.

•    Working with colleagues across Legal and other teams to address privacy issues arising in contracts and risk assessments.

•    Supporting other privacy compliance projects as needed.

•    Managing privacy requests from intake through completion, including logging requests, coordinating workflows, monitoring statutory response deadlines, maintaining appropriate records and working with stakeholders across Bain.

•    Maintaining records of processing activities.

•    Supporting compliance with client-specific data residency requirements by reviewing contractual provisions, updating internal systems and records, and providing practical guidance to case teams.

•    Helping maintain and improve privacy workflows, forms, systems and related processes.

•    Developing and maintaining internal privacy materials, including presentations, guidelines and other resources for colleagues and stakeholders.

•    Updating privacy-related website and internal content using relevant systems and content-management tools.

•    Supporting reporting on privacy activity and preparing materials for team and stakeholder meetings.

•    Contributing to other Data Privacy team projects and activities as needed.

ABOUT YOU

You are a qualified lawyer with 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in data protection and are comfortable combining legal analysis with hands-on operational responsibilities.

You’ll also bring:

•    A law degree and qualification to practise as a lawyer.

•    Business fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

•    Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.

•    Experience owning and coordinating structured, multi-step processes involving deadlines and multiple stakeholders.

•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

•    Proactive communication and strong stakeholder-management skills.

•    Sound judgement, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

•    Strong general IT skills and the ability to learn new systems and tools.

•    The ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team-focused environment.

•    Comfort learning and using AI-enabled tools as part of your work.

Experience using a compliance platform or similar workflow-management system would be an advantage, as would additional language skills.
