Senior / Technical Sales Consultant – Digital Security Solutions (Japan)

Location: Tokyo, Japan (Territory focus)

Department: Data Security (DS) Team

The Opportunity

Are you a technical expert with a knack for sales? Do you want to be at the forefront of digital security in the rapidly growing Japan market?

We are looking for a Senior / Technical Sales Consultant to join our Data Security team. In this role, you will be the technical solutions lead for the Japan territory, focusing on our industry-leading Entrust Data Security platforms—including PKI, HSMs, Cryptographic Keys, and Certificate Lifecycle Management.

If you are passionate about cybersecurity compliance, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration, and solving complex technical challenges, this is your chance to make a significant impact.

What You’ll Do

• Generate & Close Business: Partner strategically with the sales team to build a high-velocity pipeline and exceed regional sales targets.

• Lead Technical Strategy: Drive Proof of Concepts (PoCs), design robust solution architectures, and craft technical responses for RFPs.

• Be a Thought Leader: Present at industry conferences and seminars. You’ll develop custom solutions tailored to the Japanese market and act as a regional subject matter expert.

• Advise & Educate: Guide customers through security best practices, showing them exactly how Entrust solutions solve their specific business hurdles.

• Enable Partners: Create technical enablement plans and lead hands-on workshops and training for our partner ecosystem.

• Implement & Support: Manage product installations (remote and field-based) and provide deep-dive integration expertise to ensure customer success.

What We’re Looking For

Background & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Expertise: Solid experience in pre-sales, technical consultancy, or high-level support within the IT security sector.

• Track Record: Proven ability to partner with sales teams on high-value, customer-centric security projects.

Technical Skills

• Core Tech: Deep understanding of PKI, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), encryption, digital signing, and blockchain.

• Environments: Proficiency in Windows and Unix/Linux Operating Systems and networking fundamentals.

• Development: Familiarity with software development lifecycles and cryptographic APIs (e.g., PKCS#11, Java, C).

• Certification: CISSP or MCSE certifications are highly regarded.

Soft Skills & Language

• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication with a confident, persuasive public speaking style.

• Mindset: A strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and a creative approach to problem-solving.

• Language: Native fluency in Japanese is required. Proficiency in English is preferred to collaborate with our global technical community.
