Please review the following job description:

The Senior Manager / Lead Engineer – Digital Data Collection & Privacy Engineering is a hands on technical leader responsible for the architecture, implementation, and ongoing optimization of digital data collection across all
bank owned digital properties. This role leads a team of engineers while remaining deeply involved in day to day technical execution, code reviews, and platform design.
The role owns tagging, cookies, consent, and privacy compliant data collection across websites, mobile apps, and integrated platforms, with a primary focus on Adobe Experience Cloud (Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Platform). Operating in a highly regulated banking environment, this leader ensures that all digital data is accurate, secure, auditable, and privacy compliant.

Why This Role Matters
• You set the technical foundation for all digital analytics, personalization, and marketing data
• You lead a team that directly controls what data is collected—and what is not
• You influence customer trust by ensuring privacy, accuracy, and compliance at scale
• You operate where engineering rigor meets regulatory accountability

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time.

Hands‑On Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a player‑coach, contributing directly to technical implementation while leading and mentoring a team of digital data engineers.
  • Review, author, and approve tagging code, JavaScript implementations, SDK configurations, and Adobe Launch rules.
  • Set engineering standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for digital data collection and privacy controls.
  • Lead technical design reviews and actively troubleshoot complex tracking, identity, and data quality issues.

Digital Data Collection Architecture

  • Design and own the enterprise digital data collection architecture across web, mobile apps, and digital platforms.
  • Define, implement, and govern a scalable digital data layer aligned with analytics, marketing, and personalization needs.
  • Ensure consistent, event‑based data collection across browsers, devices, and channels.
  • Partner with front‑end and app engineering teams to embed tracking within modern frameworks and mobile SDKs.

Adobe Experience Cloud Engineering

  • Act as the technical authority for Adobe Launch / Adobe Tags, including environment strategy, extensions, custom code, and deployment pipelines.
  • Lead hands‑on implementation and configuration of Adobe Analytics (events, props, eVars, classifications, processing rules).
  • Own digital data ingestion into Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), including schemas, datasets, and Web SDK configuration.
  • Support integrations with Adobe Target, Customer Journey Analytics, and downstream activation platforms.

Cookies, Consent & Privacy‑by‑Design

  • Architect and implement cookie consent and preference management frameworks across digital properties.
  • Translate privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, GLBA) into enforceable technical controls within tagging and data collection systems.
  • Ensure consent signals are consistently applied across Adobe and third‑party technologies.
  • Implement data minimization, masking, and exclusion logic to prevent unauthorized collection of sensitive data.

First‑ & Third‑Party Technology Governance

  • Technically evaluate, onboard, and govern third‑party tags, SDKs, and vendors in partnership with Security, Risk, and Privacy teams.
  • Maintain a living inventory of all digital tags, cookies, data destinations, and vendors.
  • Conduct regular audits of live sites and apps to detect unauthorized or non‑compliant data collection.
  • Enforce secure and approved data transmission to internal and external platforms.

Engineering Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of digital data and tagging engineers.
  • Own team delivery, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning for digital data initiatives.
  • Provide hands‑on mentoring in JavaScript, tagging frameworks, debugging techniques, and analytics implementation.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, documentation, testing, and compliance‑first engineering.

Governance, Risk & Audit Support

  • Ensure all digital data collection meets internal data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to support audits, privacy assessments, and regulatory exams.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and implementation standards.
  • Act as the escalation point for digital data incidents or privacy‑related issues.

Core Technical Skills Required

  • Deep, hands‑on expertise with Adobe Experience Cloud, especially Adobe Launch and Adobe Analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, JSON, browser debugging tools, and network inspection.
  • Experience with Adobe Web SDK and server‑side data collection
  • Background in platform engineering or modern front‑end frameworks
  • Experience implementing mobile app tracking using iOS and Android SDKs.
  • Strong understanding of cookies, local storage, consent frameworks, and identity management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and deployment processes for tagging setups.

Privacy & Compliance Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of digital privacy regulations and consent enforcement mechanisms.
  • Proven ability to implement privacy‑by‑design solutions in production systems.
  • Experience collaborating with Legal, Risk, and Information Security teams.

Leadership & Soft Skills
