Title and Summary

Senior Vice President, Truata – Privacy-Enhancing Technology

The Senior Vice President of PETs (Truata) will lead a Dublin-based organization of technologists responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud-based platforms that enable privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) at enterprise scale. This organization delivers secure, compliant, and high-utility solutions that allow the responsible use of data while adhering to global legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

This role provides executive leadership across a combination of product development, hands-on technology leadership, cloud infrastructure expertise, and deep experience in data engineering and platform delivery, with a strong emphasis on privacy-by-design, governance, and trust. The SVP serves as a senior partner to privacy, legal, security, data science, and product teams to translate complex policy and regulatory constraints into scalable, developer-friendly technical data products and data capabilities.

The role will report into the Chief Data Officer and cross-report into the Services Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities:

PET Product, Tech & Platform Leadership
Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for platforms enabling privacy-enhancing data use, including:
• Strategy and roadmaps for building and running PET internal and external products in partnership with relevant data and product teams
• Independent anonymization services delivered through data trust models (Truata)
• Data clean rooms built and operated in a cloud environment
• Policy-driven data access and usage controls that enforce legal and contractual restrictions at scale
• Ensure platforms for delivering PETs are secure, scalable, highly available, and auditable, with strong operational discipline across development, deployment, and production support.
• Leverage the technical platform to support MA’s overall data cloud strategy

Privacy, Governance & Compliance by Design
• Embed privacy-enhancing technologies and governance controls directly into platform architecture, including anonymization techniques, clean room rule enforcement, logging, and monitoring.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Risk, and Security teams to translate regulatory requirements (e.g., data residency, purpose limitation, consent, and usage restrictions) into enforceable technical controls.
• Ensure platforms support internal and external audits with strong transparency, lineage, and reporting capabilities.

PET Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering Execution
• Lead the design and operation of cloud-native infrastructure for the delivery of PETs, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security controls, optimized for sensitive data workloads.
• Oversee related data engineering initiatives, including ingestion, transformation, anonymization, and controlled analytics across multi-tenant environments.
• Establish engineering standards for reliability, performance, cost management, and observability across these solutions.

Organizational & People Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of ~35 engineers, architects, and platform specialists based in Dublin while operating as part of a globally distributed Data Strategy organization.
• Set strategic roadmap and lead the quarterly Truata board meetings, including establishing an agenda and relevant board material in collaboration with the board members
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration across geographies and functions.

Strategic Partnership & Influence
• Act as a senior technology voice for privacy-enhancing platforms with executive stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and commercial teams to enable new data-driven offerings and partnerships while maintaining trust and compliance.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies and cloud-native capabilities where appropriate.

All About You
• Progressive leadership experience shaping and scaling technology platforms within complex, enterprise environments, with demonstrated impact at the executive level.
• Deep expertise stewarding data in highly regulated environments, enabling business value while ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Proven executive leadership of cloud infrastructure and platform organizations, operating at global scale and supporting mission‑critical, data‑intensive workloads.
• Strategic oversight of large-scale data engineering initiatives, including distributed processing, analytics platforms, and end‑to‑end production data ecosystems.
• Demonstrated accountability for platforms handling sensitive and regulated data, with privacy, security, resiliency, and governance embedded as foundational design principles.
• Strong command of modern cloud and data ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP; Databricks or equivalent), with the ability to set architectural direction and guide long‑term platform evolution.
• Track record of delivering and operating highly available, enterprise‑grade services that support multiple business lines and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Experienced leader of large, multi‑disciplinary organizations, spanning software engineering, data engineering, and platform operations, with a focus on talent development, operating model maturity, and sustained performance.

Preferred Experience
• Direct experience with privacy-enhancing technologies, such as anonymization, data clean rooms, differential privacy, or synthetic data.
• Familiarity with transaction data, financial data, or similarly sensitive large-scale datasets.
• Experience translating complex legal or regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Prior senior leadership experience in Europe or managing globally distributed engineering teams.
