Role: Senior Legal Counsel EMEA & Global Data Privacy Officer

Position Overview

Kidde Global Solutions is seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead all legal and compliance matters for the Commercial & Residential Fire business across the EMEA region, while also serving as the Global Data Privacy Officer. This is a pivotal role requiring a proactive, business-oriented legal advisor who thrives in complex, fast-paced, international environments.

The successful candidate will provide strategic counsel across a broad spectrum of legal areas, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, labor and employment matters, regulatory and international trade compliance, product and employee safety, ethics, and other corporate legal matters. Additionally, the role entails oversight of outside counsel, reporting to senior management, and active participation in the senior legal leadership team.

As Global Data Privacy Officer, the incumbent will lead GDPR and other privacy compliance initiatives, advise on Privacy by Design during new product development, manage data transfer agreements, and oversee incident response and organizational privacy assessments.

This position reports directly to the General Counsel in the United States, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the regional business lead.

Key Responsibilities

Legal & Compliance (EMEA):

  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice across the EMEA Commercial & Residential Fire business.

  • Negotiate, review, and draft commercial contracts.

  • Manage disputes, liaise with external counsel, and represent the company in complex matters.

  • Oversee employment and labor law issues, product safety compliance, and regulatory obligations.

  • Support international trade compliance and corporate ethics initiatives.

  • Report regularly to management and contribute to strategic legal decision-making.

Data Privacy Officer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and advise on privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and GDPR-required recordkeeping.

  • Guide product teams on Privacy by Design principles.

  • Negotiate and oversee Data Transfer and Processing Agreements.

  • Lead data breach incident response and organizational privacy compliance assessments.

  • Promote a culture of data protection and privacy awareness across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive legal experience, ideally including in-house roles within multinational organizations.

  • Generalist legal background with expertise in employment/labor law, product safety, regulatory compliance, and privacy law (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).

Relationship & Leadership Skills:

  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a matrix organization.

  • Proven capacity to build trusted relationships with business stakeholders at all levels.

  • Comfortable working in an international, cross-functional environment with highly competent colleagues.

Communication:

  • Bilingual Polish/English required; additional European languages advantageous.

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for all audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and high-responsibility tasks in a dynamic environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual performance bonus based on both individual and company performance.
  • The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
