Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Governance & Risk Analyst to support the development and operation of an enterprise AI Governance, Risk, and Compliance program. This role will evaluate AI and automated decision-system risks, administer governance processes, maintain compliance documentation, assess third-party AI solutions, and coordinate reviews across legal, privacy, cybersecurity, procurement, data governance, civil rights, accessibility, records management, and business teams.

This is a governance and compliance position, not a traditional data analyst, data scientist, or AI engineering role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain AI governance policies, procedures, workflows, templates, and approval criteria.
  • Manage an inventory of AI systems, use cases, models, pilots, and AI-enabled vendors.
  • Administer AI intake, triage, risk classification, review, approval, monitoring, and reassessment processes.
  • Conduct or coordinate AI risk and impact assessments involving privacy, security, regulatory, civil-rights, accessibility, data, vendor, operational, and reputational risks.
  • Assign risk tiers, identify required controls, document residual risk, and escalate high-risk use cases.
  • Maintain regulatory crosswalks, risk registers, control documentation, approvals, exceptions, and audit-ready evidence.
  • Review AI vendors, procurement documentation, data practices, security and privacy controls, audit rights, retention requirements, and incident obligations.
  • Track compliance findings, remediation activities, exceptions, incidents, and governance metrics.
  • Prepare executive-ready dashboards, reports, training materials, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with technical, legal, compliance, procurement, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience in AI governance, responsible AI, technology risk, cybersecurity GRC, privacy, regulatory compliance, internal audit, data governance, enterprise risk, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, generative AI, automated decision systems, and associated governance risks.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, impact assessments, compliance reviews, control evaluations, or technology audits.
  • Experience translating laws, regulations, policies, or standards into operational controls and documented processes.
  • Strong knowledge of risk classification, mitigating controls, residual risk, issue management, and remediation.
  • Experience maintaining risk registers, compliance crosswalks, control matrices, assessment files, or audit evidence.
  • Strong written communication, research, documentation, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting an enterprise AI governance or responsible AI program.
  • Experience with AI risk assessments, algorithmic impact assessments, privacy impact assessments, or AI inventories.
  • Third-party risk, technology procurement, or AI vendor-assessment experience.
  • Government, public-sector, criminal justice, or other regulated-environment experience.
  • Experience developing executive governance reports, dashboards, policies, training, or compliance frameworks.
