What You’ll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.

Position title: SAP iXp Intern - Cloud Software Developer (Privacy SaaS)

Location: Prague, Czech Republic

Expected start date: October/November 2026

As an intern in our scrum team within SAP’s IT organization, you will contribute to building and evolving a multi-tenant SaaS solution, which helps SAP remain compliant with data protection regulations such as GDPR.  This solution comprises multiple micro-services which serve the documentation of privacy regulated processes in so-called “records”.

Your tasks inclulde:

  • Contributing to the development of cloud-native backend services built on Java/Spring Boot and SAP CAP/CDS, deployed on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry — covering the full lifecycle of privacy records, form-based data collection and audit logging.
  • Helping to develop and maintain UI components using SAP UI5 and Fiori Elements, so that compliance specialists and privacy officers can manage records, fill questionnaires, and review the records’ change history through intuitive, role-based applications.
  • Supporting event-driven integrations between microservices through SAP Event Mesh, enabling reliable, asynchronous communication across the platform — from form submissions to evaluation results to immutable audit trails.
  • Participating in the design and implementation of configurable evaluation logic, including formula-based risk scoring that processes submitted compliance answers.
  • Working within a scrum team within a large-scale agile setup, working alongside engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver compliant, scalable, and maintainable privacy governance tooling for SAP customers worldwide.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

  • Active student at a university or a university of applied sciences, preferred fields of study: Computer Science or related fields
  • Experience with or strong interest in (Java) Spring Boot and building backend services; prior exposure to dependency injection, REST APIs, or JPA is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL — comfortable writing queries and thinking about data models.
  • Basic understanding of event-driven or microservice architectures is a plus.
  • Frontend or UI development experience (any framework) is welcome but not required.
  • Curiosity to explore how AI and intelligent automation can support privacy governance workflows — from smarter risk evaluation and formula-driven compliance scoring to automated detection of gaps in processing activity records.
  • Language skills: fluent in English
  • Soft skills: team player with good communication skills, an interest in learning new topics, ability to work in a multi-national team
  • Structured, collaborative working style and willingness to contribute to an agile scrum team.
  • Interest in getting to know the SAP technology stack and tools
  • Interest in data privacy, compliance technology, or enterprise SaaS — curiosity about how regulations like GDPR are enforced through software.
