WHAT WE'LL NEED
Wingstop is seeking a Manager – Global Data Privacy - to play a key role as subject matter expert in data privacy serving both our domestic and international markets.
The Manager – Global Data Privacy will help to drive and influence our overall data privacy program. Ensuring the completeness and effectiveness of the day-to-day processes and functions in place to support Wingstop’s global data privacy program. They will provide advice and help implement privacy by design into data processes and projects.
The role will work cross-functionally with internal resources such as Legal, HR, IT/Digital, Security, International, and Marketing functions along with external resources including outside counsel, privacy consultants, and third parties. The Manager – Global Data Privacy will help prioritize and coach Data Privacy Analyst(s) to ensure Wingstop satisfies its privacy obligations and to ensure that personal data is processed in authorized, fair, and legitimate way.
The Manager – Global Data Privacy will provide thought leadership and guidance in helping to drive data privacy requirements within our existing and future markets, influencing technology stack and operational processes requirements.
Role Responsibilities
In this role, the Manager – Global Data Privacy will be responsible for:
Working to align privacy by design principles and solutions from the first stage of development to meet regulatory compliance needs and reduce future privacy risks.
Ensuring the effectiveness of the day-to-day operations supporting the privacy function, including data subject request processes, cookie compliance, data inventory and flow mapping, privacy impact assessments, policy and procedure drafting, administration of data privacy tools, regulatory monitoring, metric development, and incident management.
Implementing privacy solutions and technologies necessary to continue to enhance Wingstop’s data privacy program and to simplify the ongoing support of data privacy obligations.
Verifying that solutions comply with privacy policies and operational procedures are correctly implemented.
Supporting the management and organization of vendor data processing agreements and related documents. Engaging cross-functionally with professionals of varying IT, information security, and privacy knowledge.
Interacting with users, developers, and architects to define system data privacy requirements and drive data solutions, while protecting data assets.
Facilitating and promoting activities to foster privacy awareness within the organization, including supporting the development and execution of privacy training.
Helping to develop and document Wingstop data privacy standards and processes.
Helping to coach and mentor Data Privacy Analyst(s) and prioritize and ensure alignment of their work with the overall Data Privacy program.
Monitoring current and emerging privacy laws, regulatory trends, legislation, third-party compliance, and activities to prepare business stakeholders for upcoming changes. Monitor emerging privacy laws, regulatory trends, and third-party compliance, engaging with partners and industry resources to ensure alignment with evolving data protection requirements.
Representing and responding to agency inspections/ inquiries and alleged compliance violations and assist with investigations and remediation.
Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex global privacy regulations into clear, actionable guidance while aligning stakeholders and influencing decisions to balance compliance, risk, and business objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Experience: 5 years’ experience in privacy/data protection role or 5-7 plus years’ experience in a corporate compliance role will also be considered
Direct people management experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Law, , Privacy Engineering, or a related field of study.
Certification: CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE or equivalent certification preferred.
