Banking hasn't changed much in decades. We're changing that. One product at a time.

Lunar is a Nordic challenger bank building the future of financial life with AI at the core. Our engineers, designers, and product people work on problems that actually matter. Making money simpler, smarter, and more rewarding for millions of people across the Nordics.
Fully licensed and founded in 2015, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm.

We move fast, we build with purpose, and we're just getting started. As our new Legal Counsel – Data Protection you'll join the Denmark Legal team based in Copenhagen, reporting to Christian, working to keep Lunar ahead of the regulatory curve while enabling the business to move fast with confidence.

What will you do?

• Own our Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) — build it, maintain it, and make sure it reflects how we actually operate across the Lunar Group.

• Manage data subject rights requests and advise business stakeholders on specific data protection questions, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance.

• Drive our data processing agreement lifecycle — negotiate, implement, and monitor third-party processors so our obligations are met end-to-end.

• Lead risk assessments including DPIAs, supporting the organisation's broader GDPR compliance work and keeping it grounded in commercial reality.

• Shape how we work — contribute to the development of Lunar's data protection framework and governance structure, with direct input into how we practice data protection at scale.

What are we looking for in you?

• Solid GDPR expertise and a working understanding of the broader regulatory landscape for a licensed financial institution.

• 2 + years of relevant experience from a law firm, financial institution, or public authority — you can handle complex data protection matters independently.

• A law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) with the ability to turn legal analysis into clear, business-oriented recommendations.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where you have real responsibility and a short path from question to decision.

• Experience in banking, fintech, or with legal issues around AI and data use is a strong plus — not a requirement.

Benefits and perks

• 4 days in the office in the city center. We're a team that builds together, thinks together, and moves together. Showing up is part of how we work.

• State of the art equipment. The newest computer, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. We want you to do your best work without anything slowing you down.

• Pension, health insurance, and enhanced parental leave. From your financial future to your family moments. We've got you covered.
