Job Description & Summary: 

We are seeking a Data Privacy Consultant to ensure compliance with global data protection and privacy regulations. The consultant will advise on privacy frameworks, conduct assessments, and implement best practices to safeguard personal data across the organization.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct privacy gap assessments and compliance reviews against GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable laws.
  • Interpret and apply relevant data protection laws and regulations to guide organizational compliance strategies.
  • Develop and implement privacy policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Perform third-party privacy assessments to evaluate vendor compliance.
  • Create data flow diagrams to track personal data across systems.
  • Prepare Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • Provide training and awareness sessions on data privacy and compliance.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Engineering, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in MBA, Law, Information Security or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other international privacy laws.
  • Strong expertise in technical privacy controls, including encryption, pseudonymization, access management, and related security mechanisms.
  • Experience in conducting privacy assessments, gap analyses, and audits.
  • Familiarity with data governance, risk management, and IT security practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent are a plus.

  • Design, evaluate, and advise on technical privacy safeguards such as encryption, pseudonymization, access control, and other privacy-enhancing technologies to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations.
  • Review contracts and data processing agreements to ensure alignment with privacy and regulatory obligations.

Mandatory skill sets: 

  • Knowledge of CSV documentation and tools (e.g., validation lifecycle management software). 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is a plus. 

  • Ability to interpret technical documents, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines. 

Preferred skill sets: 

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively. 

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced regulated environment. 

Years of Experience required: 

  • 1-3 years of experience in Computer System Validation and/or Instrument Qualification in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices). 

  • Experience with validation life cycle documentation (User Requirements Specification, Functional Specification, Validation Plans, Test Protocols, Validation Reports). 

  • Hands-on experience or exposure to qualification of instruments such as HPLCs, GCMS, balances, pH meters, or other laboratory/manufacturing equipment. 

  • Basic understanding of GxP compliance requirements including FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EMA Annex 11. 

Education qualification:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
