JOB TITLE: Group Head of Data Privacy and Records Management

SALARY: £114,800 - £170,000

LOCATION(S): Bristol or London

HOURS: Full Time - 35 Hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites


About this opportunity:
This senior leadership role sets the Group’s strategy for data privacy and records management. You’ll lead a small expert team, strengthen our privacy and records capabilities, and ensure our approach remains compliant, resilient and future‑focused. The role also explores opportunities to use AI to enhance privacy and records processes while maintaining the highest regulatory and ethical standards.

What you’ll do

  • Define and deliver the Group’s data privacy and records management strategy.

  • Embed privacy‑by‑design across products, systems and processes.

  • Maintain the Group’s privacy and records frameworks, standards and controls.

  • Lead governance activity and provide expert guidance on privacy risk.

  • Oversee breach reporting, the central ROPA, cross‑border data transfers and compliance dashboards.

  • Support the development of privacy skills and capability across the organisation.

What you’ll need

  • Extensive experience in data privacy and records management in a large financial organisation.

  • Industry‑recognised privacy qualification (e.g. CIPM, CIPP/E, PC.dp).

  • Strong knowledge of GDPR and global data transfer requirements.

  • Proven strategic leadership and ability to manage specialist teams.

  • Experience with emerging technologies, including AI and PETs.

  • Strong analytical, governance and risk management skills
