Why does this job exist and why is it critical?​

Join Maxis as a Data Protection Intern, where you will gain hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity and data protection initiatives across the organization. This role provides exposure to real-world data protection operations, including monitoring, investigation, and awareness activities, while working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party partners to strengthen Maxis’ cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Monitoring

• Monitor and analyze alerts generated by Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools.

• Identify potential data leakage risks and support escalation and follow-up actions.

2. Use Case Development

• Assist in developing and enhancing DLP and data protection use cases.

• Analyze trends and patterns to improve detection and response effectiveness.

3. Personal Data Transfer Review

• Review personal data transfer activities to ensure compliance with data protection policies and regulatory requirements.

• Support documentation, reporting, and control improvement initiatives.

4. Investigation Audit & Oversight

• Review and audit investigation activities conducted by third-party vendors.

• Ensure investigations align with internal standards, policies, and best practices.

5. Training & Awareness

• Support the planning and execution of data protection training and awareness programs.

• Assist in creating materials to promote cybersecurity and data protection best practices across the organization.

Value-Added Project

The intern will have the opportunity to contribute to a value-added project focused on enhancing Maxis’ cybersecurity and data protection capabilities. This may include improving DLP use cases, strengthening investigation processes, or supporting organization-wide data protection awareness initiatives, delivering meaningful impact to the business.

Internship Duration

Starting September, up to 6 months.
