Data Officer
At DEME, our ambition is to further grow into a data-driven organization that supports operational excellence and better decision-making across the business. Data, analytics and emerging AI technologies play a key role in improving how we operate, collaborate and create value.
To support this journey, we are looking for a Data Officer who acts as a bridge between the business and data & digital teams, shaping use cases, capturing user needs and ensuring solutions deliver tangible value and adoption within the organization.

Your responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for data-related topics (data architecture, databases, BI reporting, analytics and AI initiatives) within your business domains.

  • Translate business needs into clear data and analytics use cases that deliver measurable value.

  • Lead data-related change requests independently, working with multiple stakeholders and contributors.

  • Take ownership of initiatives from idea definition through implementation to adoption.

  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, identify opportunities and align expectations.

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers by shaping use cases, defining priorities and ensuring business alignment.
Formulate solution requirements based on information and user input.

  • Support the introduction and adoption of AI-driven solutions (e.g. AI agents, advanced analytics, document intelligence) by translating technical concepts into practical business applications.

  • Identify opportunities for document intelligence (e.g. automated processing of orders, confirmations or operational documents) in collaboration with logistics, procurement and data science teams.

  • Contribute to a forward-looking vision on DEME’s data and digital landscape, including topics such as data governance and AI governance.

Your profile

  • You have at least 3 years of experience as a Data Officer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst or in a similar business-facing data role.

  • You have a good understanding of data management, data engineering, reporting and analytics concepts.

  • You have a solid understanding of AI and data science concepts, allowing you to actively contribute to shaping AI-driven solutions from a business and functional perspective.

  • You have a working understanding of Python and analytics concepts, enabling you to engage in meaningful discussions with data scientists and engineers (hands-on development is not required).

  • Experience with data science or AI platforms (e.g. Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, large language models) is a plus.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or similar) is a plus.

  • You have strong experience in requirement gathering, stakeholder management and functional analysis.

  • You are comfortable operating in complex environments and are not afraid to take ownership of new or ambiguous topics.

  • You have excellent communication skills and are able to explain complex data topics in a clear and accessible way.

  • You have a pragmatic mindset and focus on impact and value creation rather than theoretical perfection.

  • You are collaborative, proactive and enjoy working closely with both business and technical teams.

  • Knowledge or experience in change management is considered an asset.

Our offer

  • An extensive mobility program for a healthy work-life balance.

  • A permanent training track which allows you to develop yourself personally and professionally.

  • A stimulating, innovative workplace with numerous growth opportunities.

  • A people-oriented environment with an interactive health program and a focus on employee wellbeing.
