Job Description & Summary

The Cybersecurity & Privacy Team helps organisations navigate one of the most significant shifts of our time: the rapid evolution of data, privacy and AI. As a Privacy, Data Protection, Data & AI Governance Specialist, you’ll work with clients at the forefront of change — helping them use strong governance not only to manage risk, but to unlock trusted value from their data and AI investments.

Why PwC?

At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health  giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.

Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.

What you’ll do:

  • Advise clients on privacy, data protection, data governance and AI governance strategies, operating models and practical roadmaps that build trust, manage risk and help unlock value from data and AI in a safe, scalable and sustainable way.

  • Design and implement practical solutions across privacy impact assessments, data lifecycle management, data quality, data cataloguing, retention and disposal, and AI lifecycle controls.

  • Help organisations identify, assess and respond to emerging risks across data, privacy and AI, including changes in regulation, technology and stakeholder expectations.

  • Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable recommendations for clients, helping them define governance strategies, design effective operating models and align uplift with their strategic priorities, business outcomes and opportunities to create value.

What we’re looking for:

We recognise that this combination of skills is rare, so we’re looking for people with experience across two or more areas including privacy, data protection, data governance, information management, responsible AI, AI governance, technology risk or related advisory disciplines.

Core skills:

  • Knowledge of privacy, data protection, data governance and AI governance frameworks, standards and regulatory expectations.

  • Curiosity about how AI is changing organisations, a growth mindset to keep learning as the market evolves, and a passion for helping clients use data and emerging technologies in ways that are trusted, responsible and value-creating.

  • Strong problem-solving, relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across business, technology, legal, risk and compliance teams.

Desirable skills:

Experience with relevant tools and platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, OneTrust, Varonis, Cyera or other privacy, data governance and AI governance technologies.

What you’ll gain:

  • The opportunity to work with leading organisations and cutting-edge technology that challenge and expand your expertise.

  • Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work balancing what’s best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.

  • Clear paths for career progression supported by continuous learning and leadership development.

  • Generous leave entitlements to support your work-life balance - including floating public holidays, birthday leave and ability to purchase additional leave on top of your four weeks.

  • A world-class parental leave policy offering up to 26 weeks of leave for caregivers, supporting your family and personal life.
