This position oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation and maintenance of Logan Health’s compliance and privacy programs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ Project Management experience, managing large, complex projects required. 
  • Minimum of one (1) of the following certifications required within two (2) years of hire:
    • Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)
    • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) 
    • Certified in Healthcare Research and Compliance (CHRC)
    • RHIA Certified in Compliance and Ethics (CCEP)
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ compliance and/or privacy work experience preferred.  Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.  Possess in depth knowledge of the healthcare compliance and privacy rules, regulations and laws preferred.
  • A working knowledge of health care reimbursement, including Medicare conditions of participation and Medicare conditions of payment preferred.  Possess knowledge of Critical Access Hospital Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations preferred.
  • Possess ability to navigate, understand, interpret and remain abreast of state and federal rules and regulations regarding privacy and compliance.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with compliance software and databases preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Exercises independent judgment and contributes to the achievement of department goals and objectives. Adheres to department policies, procedures, standards, and complies with governmental laws and regulations. Contributes to a supportive department culture by motivating and mentoring.
  • Exercises independent judgement and facilitates the implementation of an effective compliance and privacy program. 
  • In collaboration with the LH team members:
    • Creates compliance work plans, audit plans and corrective actions.
    • Conducts compliance and privacy risk assessments, develops, and monitors progress with corrective action plans.  
    • Conducts compliance committee meetings.
    • Assists in creating and maintaining compliance and privacy function databases and logs.
    • Assists with drafting policies, procedures, processes, and workflows related to the comprehensive organizational compliance and patient privacy program.
  • Assists in maintaining privacy and compliance regulatory policies and compliance with Federal and Montana state law as applicable.
  • Works in conjunction with designated stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance and privacy program.  Advises on privacy complaints related to patient privacy and communicates with patients appropriately.
  • Assists compliance leadership with the documentation and preparation in submitting reportable events to required government entities.
  • Ensures an overall plan for the development and implementation of education programs to support compliance and privacy regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates in the audit activity as directed by Compliance Leadership.
  • Remains abreast of regulatory trends in privacy and compliance regulations and engages in continued education programming.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
